Calendar of Events for July 2008:

 

Splash & Jam  - July 19th, 6-9 pm
It's truly a great time for everyone of all ages. The supervised evening offers a choice of activities swimming; gym games, arts and crafts, food , a G-rated movie, and more. Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by an adult. Free for members, and the public-at-large is welcome - $5 for non-members.   April - 392 kids & adults - A new record!

 

Teen Late Night! Every Friday night from 8:30-11 p.m.
For teens, ages 13-19: bring your friends and experience a night filled with many fun activities. Teens are able to swim, use the hot tub, play basketball, wallyball or board and table games, plus more. Refreshments, including pizza, are served.  There is no cost for YMCA members and non-members pay only $5 per person.

2008 TRI Y RUN & SWIM

Due to delays in construction on the roads surrounding the YMCA, the TRI Y event will be done in cooperation with the National YMCA "Activate America" campaign and be held on Saturday, September 27th.

Calendar of Events for August 2008:

 

Military Date Night  – August 2nd, 5:30 to 9:30 pm

Take a break from the kids and enjoy yourselves, with the help of the Kitsap Armed Services YMCA Military Date Night Program. Bring the little ones in - as young as 4 weeks will be accepted - for only $3 per hour per child, for up to four hours on the first Saturday evening of each month. See a movie, have dinner or just kick back and relax in the peace and quiet. (Prepaid punch cards are available for only $2.50 per hour.)

2008 EASTER EGG HUNT - Thursday, March 20th

We had a good turnout and kids found LOTS of colorful eggs in the Annual Y Easter Egg Hunt. Despite the wet grass outside, the gym and the Activity Center provided plenty of space for the little ones to enjoy the Hunt!

Ages:   up to 23 mos      2 - 3 years       4 - 5 years

Christmas Social - Dec 18th, 5-7 pm

The Kitsap Family YMCA provided a sit-down dinner with all the trimmings to more than 250 members and their guests on the 18th, It was a smashing success and the food was great,

 

Santa showed up and all the kids got presents - what could be better than that on a rainy mid-December evening!

 

 

 


2007 Keith Carden Memorial Handball Tournament

    Saturday, Dec 8th,

 

Format will be "Handicap Doubles" as in past years. Players will be paired to have teams as evenly matched as possible. Handicaps will be assigned where teams are of obviously uneven strength.

 

Tournament was won by the team of Jon Hohol and Don Curtis, beating the runner-up team of Jim Wainwright and YMCA Assoc. Executive Director, Jane Erlandsen.


Harvest Social & Carnival – Tues, October 30th

Y Members and their guests dressed in their scariest & most ghoulish to celebrate the Fall Season, Harvest time and Halloween. Games, prizes and costume contest along with light refreshments were provided. Click here for all the great photos.   

 

 


 

Member Appreciation BBQ Picnic - Sept 8, 11 am -1 pm

We appreciated your patience while we shut down your Y for a week, when we spiff it up for you, our members. So to show you our appreciation, we threw you a FREE BBQ picnic...more than 200 members came out and enjoyed the great barbecue and good company! Our thanks to all our members and expecially to those that attended the BBQ.

 


 

HERITAGE HALL OF HONOR INDUCTION

 

The Heritage Hall of Honor was established by the Kitsap Family YMCA Foundation to honor those volunteers that have led the way in giving their time, talent and treasure.

 

Four remarkable members of our community have been recognized by placing a special plaque on the Hall of Honor wall in the Y gymnasium.

 

This Hall of Honor award is for volunteers displaying a level of service and dedication deserving our most prominent recognition and this year's inductees at the ceremony on Sunday June 3rd were:
