Drop-In Program
Activity Descriptions:
Arts-N-Crafts:
Kids engage in a fun-filled art and craft
activities, encouraging the child's natural creativity..
Art Daze:
In this 90 minute program, kids will have extra time
to complete a more detailed project. Plaster of Paris and many other exciting
crafts to explore.
Books&
Breakfast/Brunch: Bring a book and read with
friends, or participate in group readings and discussions. Also while enjoying a healthy nutritional breakfast
or brunch provided by the YMCA
staff. A
selection of books is also available to kids and families. All games and
computers are closed during this program.
Computer Lab:
Computers are available for kids during designated
hours for homework, games and educational research. Computers are also available
to adults when the lab is closed to kids - see schedule. Ages 6 & up.
Cooking Daze:
Staff will supervise youth working in our kitchen
learning how to make a healthy and tasty meal from start to finish.
Dance Mix:
A fun way to exercise! Kids face off against each other atop the dance mat.
Follow all the cued dance moves to win the challenge and take on a new
opponent. *1 pt
Fear Factor
Challenge: Welcome to the world of weird &
wild challenges. Obstacle courses, slime tanks, and food challenges are just a
few of the crazy ideas our staff will propose to the kids. Are YOU brave enough
to try it?
Fit Kids:
This is a fun and exciting way to exercise! Kids engage in a 45-minute class with
a wide variety of structured games and exercise workouts. Age 6 & up.

Four Square:
An hour of fun with staff played on a four-square
court and a rubber playground ball. Opponents battle it out top rise to the
highest ranking square. It's a whole lot of fun! Ages 6 & up. *1 pt
Game Daze:
Bringing back the classics!!!! Hide-n-Seek; Tag; Duck, Duck, Goose are
just some of the fun games we will play as a group. Weather permitting,
this class will be outdoors, so wear your sunscreen! *2 pts
In or Out Games:
Depending on the weather conditions,
kids will play a variety of indoor or outdoor group games, Supervised by YMCA staff
at all times.
Jewelry Making: Bead Mania! Get creative with
different supplies, make key chains, bracelets necklaces and more.
Juggling Fun:
Have you ever wanted to be in the circus? Come learn the basics of
juggling and have lots of laughs.
Jump-4-Fun:
Double Dutch, games, songs and new challenges are
part of the fun of jump roping. Come join in the FUN - its great
exercise! 1pt
Karaoke:
A time of fun and singing! Kids choose from a large selection
of familiar songs and sing their hearts out. Bring a friend or your family.
Knit-N-Stitch:
Boys & girls participate in step-by-step knitting
activity with staff. Other activities include sewing, weaving, braiding and twisting
to make projects and be creative. All supplies are provided.
Make It Healthy:
Kids explore healthy recipes through cooking, research, crafts and discussions.
Focus is on learning about health and fitness.
Something from the Kitchen: Kids have
the opportunity to explore the culinary world, working together to design and
prepare recipes in the kitchen. Supervised at all times by YMCA staff.
Sports Daze:
Come join the team! Staff will help youth build
strong team values through basic spots. Each week will focus on a different
sport. Soccer, Volleyball, Badminton and Kick ball are just a few of the fun
sports we will enjoy. *2 pts
Study Time:
A quiet time set aside for kids to complete homework
assignments or study for tests with the help of YMCA staff. Activities
include Spelling Bee, Mind Joggers and Kids Book Club. Computers are also
available for research and educational purposes only. All Games are closed
during study time.
Track & Field:
Relay races, long jump, tug o' war, eg & spoon
race, and many more fun activities for kids to enjoy. *1 pt
Tournament Time:
Kids engage in friendly competition. A fun opportunity for kids to compete in
various tournaments in ping-pong, air-hockey, basketball, bumper pool and more.
Youth Spanish: Kids
learn the basics of the Spanish language while participating in fun filled
activities, games and songs.
